Replace Garden Shed Roof Felt

Once measured and cut line the first piece of felt up so that it over hangs the edge of the roof on three sides by enough to cover the side pieces of the roof.

Remember you chose roofing felt because it is cost effective so any replacement isn t going to break your wallet. For most sheds you ll need to cut 3 pieces of felt. Start at the lowest edge and nail your felt along the facia. 1 for each side of the roof as well as a third section that will overlap the 2 side panels by about 30cm on each side and run along the top ridge of the shed.

You ll need enough felt to cover the entire area of the roof with a little extra on each edge around 5cm to allow for overlaps at the eaves and at the gable ends approximately 7 5cm. If your shed has a pent roof flat with no ridge you can apply the felt in exactly the same way as you would for one side of a pitched roof. Spread the felt flat onto the roof and nail along the top edge of the felt.

If you re happy with the positioning nail it down tidily remember to fold the corners around neatly. If you keep having to patch your roofing felt on the shed then you might need to start thinking about covering up your felt altogether.
